What should people eat?
I think people should eat whatever they want because we have no control. If they think it tastes good then let them believe its good. Also people should eat food that is considered healthy and also what they thing is moraly right to eat.

Farmers Market

I had a lot of fun today at the Union Square Farmers market. I chose the woman with the berrie jams as my target for information. The table was covered in assorted jams and jellies and the business. The whole table was a sticky mess even the business cards she gave us came in groups of 3 from being aroung the jam. The woman was from the Berkshires in Massachussets. Its considered one the best berry farms in America.

I love Jam a whole lot. I put it on whole grain bread, bagels, waffles, and crackers. I believe it is good for you because it does come from the tastiest fruit in my opinion, berries. It does contain alot of sugar though so its not 100% healthy.

The berries are collected from various berry farms in the local area and also from there own farm and backyard. To find out more about the Jam, here is the link...

Cooking Pasta 2/7/07

I chose pasta as the grain I would cook. I actually have never really cooked pasta all by mself. I trust my mom way more because of her experience. I knew the process was very simple but i found it to be extremely scary. I cleaned out a pot and filled it with warm water from my sink. I put on a high flame and placed the pot abpve the flame. I have a fear of boiling water because my Mom worked in the Burn Center in New York hospital, i have seen cases of little kids pulling on the stove and the water falling all over thier face. I poured some salt in the pot and stirred and watched the pasta. I had no idea how long it took to cook so I just waited and used my big wood spoon to feel if the penne was soft. Pouring the hot water into the strainer was the scariest thing i have ever done. The pot weighed a ton and heat from the water was beaming against my face. I then applied tomato sause and ate my food. Being Italian, pasta is very common in my diet.

My Meal: part Duex

I missed the lesson on this homework so Josh Ben Yaish explained it as a very long P word that i think he made up as he was saying it to me. He eventually explained it further and I got the idea of the assignment.
Tonight i had take out from the Chinese Food resturant. I had General Tso chicken, broccoli, white rice, and a egg roll. Whenever i hear were having Chinese I always get excited because its my favorite kind of food, but it is very unhealthy and full of grease. I started the meal by picking up my fork and starting at the white rice. The rice tasted white, I can tell the difference very easily between fried and white rice. It tasted to plain and dry so I ate some general tso chicken. The Chicken (hopefully it was actually chicken) tasted really spicy and gooey. By gooey I mean the sause the chicken was in was very think and instantly took the dry rice taste out of my mouth. Through the entire meal I still had rice in my teeth no matter how much Ginger Ale I drank. When i drank the Ginger Ale a stinging sensation burned through my mouth from the spiciness of the chicken. Its the type of feeling you get when you eat minty gum and then breathe in cold air. It feels good and bad at the same time. I then started to eat the broccoli. I dont really like any vegtable except corn but I eat whatever is on my plate, even if I dont know what it is. The broccoli didnt taste to good so i dipped it in the general Tso chicken sause and gave the broccoli a sweet/spicy gooey taste. It still tasted wierd in my mouth just like a random plant i stuck in my mouth. To this day I refer to broccoli as "trees" because that what I called them when I was a baby and it just stuck with me. After I cleared my plate of rice, chicken, and broccoli. I moved on to the mysterious Egg roll. I have yet to find out what is actually in one of these things. I dont understand how people call things Egg_____ when there in fact is no egg in it. Eggnog has no egg in it either, there must be some logic behind this. I bite into the eggroll and most of it falls to my plate. I consider myself a neat eater but these eggrolls are impossible to handle. It tasted really good and crunchy, it had enough grease in it to fry a small horse. This meal filled me up but i had the guilty feeling afterwards.

My Meal

Friday night my family and I went out to dinner and Saturday night i had a 10:00 pm soccer game so i missed dinner completely. Sunday night was the only night during the weekend where i actually ate a homemade meal. My Mom is 100% Irish but married a italian man and grew up in a Italian nieghborhood. Therefor she sometimes acts Italian and most of the time she cooks Italian food. Most of the time during the week my family eats pasta because its quick and my little sisters like it. personally i dislike pasta if i eat it more than once a week. I usually just make myself dinner on the nights where my mom dosent want to cook another meal for me.
My meal on Sunday night was fetticini pasta with meat/tomato sause and meatballs with a Peach Snapple to drink. I like almost every snapple. I prefer it over soda and some juices. I should be drinking alot of water though so my muscles dont cramp when i play soccer. I rarely at pasta as a boy growing up but as i got older and became more educated in health and sports i relized that pasta with sause and meatballs is a great meal. It covers almost everything you need. I eat lots of carbohydrates during the week and i try to excersize daily to stay fit.
Honestly i havent really thoght about what my food tastes like when im eating it. Pasta really does not have a actuall taste, its more about the texture and what you put on the pasta. I really hate tomatoes also on anything i eat but for some reason i like ketchup and tomato sause. I dont even want to describe what meat tastes like from any animal, all i can say is it tastes good. I was just relived that i was putting food into my stomach because after about 10 minutes of any type of activity which even includes sitting down, i become very hungry. So i dont concentrate on what it tastes like, i focus on if my stomach is full. I guess i look at Pasta and sause as just something I eat but theres way more to that that I dont know about.
After my meal i went outside to my yard and played some soccer for a while, then i came back inside and had some apple pie.
